Thank you for participating!
The 2010 Who-are-you-Kitchener? community consultation has now ended. Thank you to everyone who took the time to participate and share your thoughts about the future of our city.

Compass Kitchener will analyze the results of all of the feedback received and report back to Kitchener City Council in late June 2010. The feedback will then be used to update the City of Kitchener’s Strategic Plan, the document which guides the city’s direction and spending each day.

Who are you, Kitchener?

It’s an important question – and your answers will help to shape the future of our city over the next term of Kitchener City Council.

Running from March 5 through May 5, 2010, the second Who-are-you-Kitchener? (WAYK 2) community consultation is once again led by Compass Kitchener, a small group of citizens that advise city council as the collective community voice.

This community consultations is a grassroots citizen engagement process made up of two phases including: the Environics Survey PDF (done in late 2009) and this subsequent WAYK2 community consultation.

The WAYK campaign – which was extremely successful in 2006 – invites all residents to join the conversation about the community’s vision and priorities for the future.

The 2010 WAYK 2 campaign sets out to:

  • Validate the community’s vision and priorities as identified through WAYK 2006.
  • Measure public support for the strategic direction of the city.
  • Identify and explore any new issues or priorities.
  • Re-measure citizen satisfaction levels with city services.
  • Assist a newly-elected Council with setting its agenda for the next four years, based on citizen feedback.
  • Update the community priorities sections within the City of Kitchener’s Strategic Plan.

Compass Kitchener will collect feedback through the spring of 2010, before reporting back to Kitchener City Council with the full results of the community consultation in June 2010.
