About Compass Kitchener
Council established a committee of citizens called Compass Kitchener to engage the community in developing and achieving a shared vision for the future. The committee assists in building a positive community identity, engaging residents in dialogue, and creating mechanisms to report back to the public and Council.

Compass Kitchener’s mandate is:

• To design and implement public processes to validate the community vision and directions and determine critical community issues prior to each municipal election;
• To report to Council on critical community issues to assist in the establishment of Council’s three year Shared Agenda at the beginning of each new term;
• To develop performance measures and monitor performance against those community issues included in the Shared Agenda;
• To report on performance to Council and the community.
